Matthew Dailey, P.E.

Matthew Dailey, P.E.

President/Geotechnical Department Manager

Matthew (Matt) Dailey, P.E., started with CTS in 2005 as a Staff Engineer and was promoted to Geotechnical Department Manager in 2020. In 2021, Mr. Dailey added President to his title during his acquisition of the company. He has nearly 20 years of experience in the geotechnical engineering and testing fields. As Geotechnical Department Manager, Matt’s primary role is to oversee all operations within the Geotechnical division here at CTS, including project scheduling, client interactions, and geotechnical report composition. In his free time, Matt enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters, helping out at his family’s farm, and being an assistant chief for the Jefferson Volunteer Fire Department.


Jed McInerney, P.E.

Jed McInerney, P.E.

Vice President/Senior Geotechnical Engineer

Jed McInerney began working at CTS in 2011 and obtained his P.E. in 2015. He became Vice President in 2021 after the acquisition of the company, along with Matt. His nearly 15 years of experience have provided him with expertise in conducting thorough site investigations, analyzing soil properties, and providing expert recommendations for a wide range of geotechnical projects. As a Senior Geotechnical Engineer, Jed’s primary responsibilities include the composition of geotechnical engineering reports, directly overseeing drilling operations, handling client interactions, and managing the geotechnical laboratory. Jed lives in Sioux City with his wife and twin son and daughter. When not at work, he enjoys golfing and traveling.


Robbie Smutzler

Robbie Smutzler

Construction Materials Manager

Robbie Smutzler began his career with CTS in 1992 and has been the Construction Materials Manager since 2002. He has over 35 years of experience in the construction materials testing field. His responsibilities in the laboratory and field include overseeing the day-to-day operations of the construction materials testing division at CTS. Robbie also reviews test results, prepares reports, leads the training of new employees, and manages the dispatching of technicians. He is also the Radiation Safety Officer and is responsible for monitoring the nuclear density gauges and the personnel using them to ensure that all state and federal guidelines are followed. Married to Denna and the proud father of Kyler and Kiana, he values family above all else. When not cheering on the Chiefs, you'll find him casting lines at the lake and cherishing precious moments with loved ones.


Kathleen Martin

Controller

Kathleen Martin has been part of the Certified Testing Services team since 2014. She began working at the company as an assistant bookkeeper and was promoted to Controller in 2020. Kathleen’s duties include payroll, human resources, accounts processing, accounts payable, and all the company's general accounting duties. Kathleen has been married to her husband Lance for 35 years, has an adult son and daughter, and has grandsons Hunter and Weston, who have stolen their Nana’s heart.

Office Manager

Sarah Trucano started her career at CTS in 2006 as a front desk receptionist. During her time at CTS, she has moved up to her current title as Office Manager, where she oversees the front office operations, including reception and materials testing report entry.


Janna Simenson

Janna Simenson

Front Office/Reception

Janna Simensen began her career with CTS in 2023. She assists the front office with scheduling, billing, and materials testing report entry and provides receptionist duties. Outside of work, Janna enjoys playing cards and spending quality time with her husband and two wonderful daughters.


Jack Krage, C.E.T.

Jack Krage, C.E.T.

Administration

Jack Krage founded Certified Testing Services in 1987. He has served in the past as President and General Manager and maintained those positions until 2021. Jack’s roles consist of assisting the construction materials testing division as well as initial marketing and project proposals. His extensive knowledge of all areas of the construction phase testing including soils, concrete, asphalt, and auger cast piling is fundamental in assuring that our customers receive the highest quality services possible.

Gary Jackson

Gary Jackson

Division Manager – Storm Lake

Gary Jackson began his career at CTS in 2007 as the Storm Lake division manager and was instrumental in the opening of CTS’s Storm Lake the same year. Gary oversees the day-to-day construction materials testing operations in the Storm Lake office. He brings with him a great deal of knowledge from his 30+ years in the materials testing industry. Gary also reviews test results, prepares reports, compiles estimates, leads the training of new employees, and manages the dispatching of technicians. Gary is married to his wife, Debra, and has five grown children and nine grandchildren. He enjoys golf, traveling in the winter, and fast cars. His passion for classic cars and show vehicles has won him many top honors at several car shows.


Dana Siefer

Dana Siefer

Assistant Division Manager – Storm Lake

Dana Siefer began at CTS’s Storm Lake location in 2009. His responsibilities in the laboratory and field include testing and inspection of soils, masonry, structural steel, fireproofing, hot mix asphalt, and concrete. Dana also oversees the administrative and laboratory department personnel, reviews test results, and prepares materials reports. In his free time, Dana enjoys spending time hunting, fishing, taking wildlife photography, and other outdoor activities.


Joyce Nielsen

Joyce Nielsen

Front Office/Reception – Storm Lake

Joyce Nielsen began her career at CTS in 2020. Joyce handles front office operations, which consist of reception, billing, materials testing, report entry, and general office duties. Joyce loves spending time with her family and enjoys cooking for the CTS Crew. Her favorites are her grandson JP, her Coca-Cola collection, and gathering shells on the beaches of Sanibel, FL.
